Equifax Inc., one of the three largest consumer credit reporting agencies in in the United States, recently shared the following information regarding a data security incident that may have exposed some consumer information, including Social Security numbers and other identifying information.

A dedicated website to help consumers determine if their information was potentially impacted by this incident has been established for your convenience. Simply visit and click on Potential Impact in the top menu. You will be prompted to enter your last name as well as the last 6 digits of your Social Security number.

In addition, you are eligible to participate in Equifax’s FREE identity theft protection and credit file monitoring service, TrustedID Premier, available to U.S. consumers for one year.

This service includes:

  • 3-Bureau credit monitoring of your Equifax, Experian and TransUnion credit reports
  • Copies of your Equifax credit report
  • The ability to lock and unlock your Equifax credit report
  • Identity theft insurance
  • And internet scanning for your Social Security number.
